What is World of Tomorrow?

The main goal of this webinar series is to inspire the youth with new ideas for their career and personal lives as well as to carry on that spark by improving the lives of others. The underlying strong belief is that education is a tool that opens up a world full of opportunities, freedom and independence.

Our key speakers range from young people who have overcome life challenges, leaders in SOS Children’s Villages, Teach for All and Deutsche Post DHL Group or other business and community leaders doing inspiring work. They will be the source of information with a focus on four key areas we think are crucial in these days - youth empowerment, business and trade, education and sustainability.

Gender equality is one of the most discussed topics today. However, especially girls and women still experience gender inequality in their homes, school, work and communities every day. With women and girls representing half of the world’s population and therefore also half of its potential, it’s only logical to find ways to advance gender equality in all areas of life. This World of Tomorrow session highlights where gender equality makes a difference and reflects how girls and women can be empowered – in the workplace and beyond. This June, we have Sarah Meinert, GoTrade Head of Knowledge Management and Heba Abo Aesha speaking to us. Before joining the global GoTrade team Sarah has been working in different field such as Sustainability, HR, market research and as university lecturer. She always aims to have a positive impact on people through her work and discovered that this can certainly be done while working in a large private sector company. Sarah is passionate about gender equality and supports many initiatives empowering women, especially targeting women in developing and least developed countries. The Entrepreneur behind Eco-Soap Bank - April 29, 2021

For the April edition of our webinar series, we have Samir Lakhani, founder and CEO of the humanitarian organization Eco-Soap Bank, joining us. Samir will share his experience of founding a non-profit organization, his motivation and the impact his organization is creating. This time the spotlight will be on Maria Friedrich. She is a pilot of a Boeing 757 cargo plane at DHL Air. She has pursued this profession above the clouds since a very young age. Maria will talk about what has motivated her to achieve this dream. As a woman in this rather male-dominated industry, she faces distinct challenges, so she will explain how this didn’t put her down.
