Step 4: Communicating, recruiting and preparing[edit | edit source]
Once an activity plan has been formulated, this should be presented to the:
- Senior management at stakeholder organizations (DHL Business units; SOS Children’s Villages; Teach for all Partners; Refugee programme partners; UK foundation Stakeholders)Communicating the activity plans
- DHL businesses to encourage volunteers to sign-up to participate in the activities and to engage with the target group
- The team and team leaders are clear about their responsibilities in respect of actions taken or assigned to them such as:
- To secure a venue
- Catering,
- All transportation,
- Security clearance,
- Communication regards address,
- Start time etc
- Arranging for videos and photography
- Facilitation tools (projector, laptop, stationery, flip charts, evaluations forms, registers, etc) to host the target group dependent on the type of activity planned for
- Volunteers will need to understand what they are required to do and work together with the team lead to ensure the activity takes place and all required preparation, evaluations are completed as part of the activity
- The partner organization teams are to create an understanding of the plan and requirements in preparation for the activities:
- Selection of youth
- Transportation
- Time of departure
- Appropriate attire
- Create an understanding of the activity plan for the participants etc.
- Sharing the child safeguarding training with all volunteers
Putting the plan to action[edit | edit source]
- Preparing a checklists for all stakeholders
One evaluation form needs to be completed by the young people – evaluating the GoTeach Activities for the year
- This should be done at the last activity for the year
- If possible it can be done online using the link
- Alternatively the evaluation forms are printed, completed by the young people and collected to be loaded onto the online evaluation database
