3.3.1 Benefits for Employees
3.3.1.1 All GoTeach activities have a clear benefit to employees and their teams:
- Employees act as role models, helping young people develop confidence and employability skills
- Employees build on their own leadership, mentoring, problem solving and communication skills
- The employee’s site and the company is showcased as a leading local employer that cares about the local community (which leads to improved company reputation)
- Greater pride and loyalty to employer leads to improved Employee Engagement* and the long-term success of the company
*) Employee engagement is the extent to which employees feel passionate about their jobs, are committed to the organization, and put discretionary effort into their work.
Furthermore, we know from DPDHL’s Happiness Index that people who are involved in social and environmental activities are more satisfied with their life. 73% of those who engage socially or ecologically say that this enriches their lives.
