9.4.1 What to do - and what avoid
- Do share information about your local activities
- Do not discuss donations or activation budgets
- Do not name customers, unless explicit consent has been previously sought or unless customers have participated in a GoTeach activity and they have given their express permission for their name to be mentioned in the context of their GoTeach involvement
- Do not name specific young people we have worked with unless consent has been previously sought
- If questioned on the business:
- do not discuss revenue/ profit figures
- do not discuss/ mention market-sensitive information (e.g., M&A deals in planning)
- Everything you say is on the record, do not say something that could be misinterpreted or quoted in the upcoming story for example, if there was a negative experience
- Use simple terms where possible and insert anecdotes to illustrate your points
- Remain positive and upbeat about the messages, announcement or activity you are getting interviewed about
- IMPORTANT: Stay in control of the topic at hand - reporters may try to draw you out for other stories (e.g. state of business operations, politics etc.) but you should always try to bring it back to the topic of the GoTeach partnership
