Thank you for signing up as a GoTeach volunteer! Volunteering your specialist skills and strengths to local GoTeach activities will help us make a sustainable impact in our local communities.
The GoTeach mission is to improve the employability of children and young people who are socio-economically disadvantaged due to poverty, loss of family or flight from their homeland. Our lead partnerships are with the Teach for All Network, SOS Children’s Villages International and other support partners.

7.5.4.1.1.2 What is GoTeach?

GoTeach is the partnership with the Teach for All Network and SOS Children’s Villages International and is aimed at improving the employability of children and young people who are socio-economically disadvantaged due to poverty, loss of family or flight from their homeland. Through our employees, we can enable contact with children and young people and bring the world of work to life by sharing experience and expertise.
In every country the local DHL and SOS Children’s Villages and / or Teach for All network partners plan and run activities together, creating and implementing plans applicable to the local context in the countries and local communities.
7.5.4.1.1.3 Why is this volunteering opportunity being offered?
Every DPDHL Group employee is encouraged to contribute to their local community in a sustainable manner, volunteering time and sharing skills and strengths to improve local communities and contribute to the Group’s objectives.
By sharing your knoledge and expertise with young people, you could motivate them to think about their own possible career journey and inspire them to reach for their goals.

7.5.4.1.1.5 What opportunities are available and what could I have to offer?
As a volunteer, you may want to be part of the planning process for GoTeach in your country or contribute to specific activities planned for the year.
A range of activities are available; you can select from them and decide how you'd like to contribute on the basis of your strengths and skills. Discussion with the local GoTeach coordinating team about the plans and volunteering opportunities is highly recommended.
7.5.4.1.1.6 What do I need to do to get involved and what is expected of me?
- Sign up as a GoTeach volunteer
- Review the local GoTeach plan and identify which activities would best suit you
- Read through and understand the child safeguarding policies of the partner organizations and, where necessary, sign agreements
- Understand what is expected of you when volunteering for the specific activities
- Prepare for the volunteering activity
- Engage with the young people
- Complete the evaluation form
- Keep volunteering!
7.5.4.1.1.7 Code of Conduct / child safeguarding
As part of volunteer orientation, a child safeguarding session will be arranged for volunteers to ensure they understand their responsibilities as a volunteer when dealing with children and young people.
Agreements may need to be signed in respect of photography of the children and young people and ensuring their safety.
7.5.4.1.1.1 Description of volunteers, supporters, champions and ambassadors
7.5.4.1.1.1.1 Volunteers
GoTeach volunteers deliver GoTeach activities, acting as role models to young people, facilitating, hosting and taking part in local GoTeach activities.
- A volunteer supports 1 – 2 activities each year
- Volunteer at least 1 hour
7.5.4.1.1.1.2 Supporters
GoTeach supporters authorize the execution of the program as part of their regular function or promote the program at the local/ regional level e.g. contact in Finance or Procurement, Country Manager, Regional CEO.
- Supporters are nominated by the GoTeach Regional Managers
7.5.4.1.1.1.3 Champions
GoTeach Champions make a regular commitment to GoTeach through mentoring or participating in regular activities over the year.
- Colleagues who make a meaningful commitment to young people
- Support multiple or regular activities each year – more than 3 activities each year
- Volunteer in excess of 20 hours
7.5.4.1.1.1.1 Ambassadors
GoTeach Ambassadors lead the program for their country, planning, coordinating and executing GoTeach activities, motivating and inviting other colleagues to get involved.
