3.6.1.1 GoTeach impact goes beyond young people and includes different members of the community:
Educators:
DPDHL volunteers support educators in many different ways including mentoring and coaching as they prepare for their professional careers, by visiting schools and classrooms to offer support. For example in Mexico, DHL Mexico employees led virtual sessions for (second year) teachers and alumni on to help them maximize their job search:
Students
DPDHL volunteers share their time, experience and skills to benefit students in many ways. For example, in Spain, local DHL offices shared their skills for the workplace into classrooms through GoTeach volunteer engagements. DPDHL Group volunteers participated in a workshop at a school to support students to identify their strengths, abilities, and prospective career paths. The DHL Express India office hosted a computer session for 30 students from three Teach For All's partner organization Teach For India classrooms, teaching computer basics such as how to use the Internet and Microsoft Office.
Partner organization and school staff
Volunteering activities also benefit the schools and communities as a whole. For example, DHL Bangladesh senior management carried out tree planting activities in two government primary schools in the Mirpur area of Dhaka along with the Teach For All's partner organization Teach For Bangladesh teachers, students, and staff.
Volunteers have also mobilized their resources to provide support in emergency situations. Following the devastating earthquake which struck Nepal in 2015, Deutsche Post DHL Group and Teach For All's partner organization Teach First Deutschland organized a donation campaign to benefit Teach For All's partner organization Teach For Nepal as the program worked to rebuild a safe and effective learning environment for its students amid the rubble.
Families
Families also engage with volunteers. For example, more than 100 DHL Ecuador volunteers, family members, and school family members collaborated on Global Volunteer Day to revamp a rural Teach For All's partner organization Enseña Ecuador school affected by the Cotopaxi volcano in Machachi. The event improved the infrastructure of the children’s learning environment. In addition, seven computers were donated to the school.
