9.2.1 DHL Group GoTeach Messages (For DHL spokespersons to use during interviews, or for DHL communicators to use when they are developing any communications materials),
- With approximately 600,000 employees in over 220 countries and territories, DHL Group is the world's leading logistics company. The Group pursues the strategic goals of becoming Employer, Provider, and Investment of Choice worldwide. One of the key pillars of Strategy 2025 is building on our sustainability practices and further advancing our position as a benchmark for responsible business.
- As a long-standing partner of the United Nations, DHL Group supports the 2030 Agenda and the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.
- Specifically in GoTeach, our mission is aligned with SDG #4 (ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all) and SDG #8 (promoting sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all). We aim to enable children and young people to fulfill their potential by developing their mindsets, life skills, and capacity to reach their aspirations, and by connecting them to the world of work.
- Equally, DPDHL Group is committed to the collective impact approach of SDG #17 (strengthening the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development) through its GoTeach program by demonstrating best practices to inspire and encourage multi-stakeholder partnerships, which will in turn help to scale activities and solutions.
- Through our GoTeach program, DHL Group offers employees the opportunity to utilize their knowledge and skills to contribute to society and the communities that they operate within.
- We make our networks and services available at no charge – for example, our volunteers organize various activities for and provide mentoring services to young people living in socioeconomically challenged environments around the world.
- Through DHL Group’s partnerships with SOS Children’s Villages and Teach For All, employees who volunteer have access to resources across all three organizations to reach out to young people in need.
- DHL Group’s GoTeach program aims to improve the employability of socioeconomically challenged young people. GoTeach volunteers do this by partnering with SOS Children’s Villages and Teach For All to help young people in their programs to prepare for the demands of the working world and improve their chances of gaining employment.
- Since GoTeach launched in 2009, DHL Group has established 77 national partnerships in 63 countries worldwide.
- In 2022, over 150,000 employees volunteered in about 2,700 local volunteering projects, of which, approximately 1,700 employees volunteered in around 400 local GoTeach projects.
- Through our partnerships with SOS Children’s Villages and Teach for All, DHL Group provides:
- Volunteer support, for young people through activities such as mentoring, career coaching, internships, job application/interview training, internships, soft skills training, and vocational skills training
- Financial support, knowledge transfer, and the support of local and worldwide networks
SOS Children’s Villages GoTeach Messages (On how the organization works with DHL and the benefits the GoTeach program has brought to the table)
- Every child needs a love and a family. This foundation is crucial to ensuring that children become independent adults. SOS Children’s Villages provides a loving home and family for children without parental care, and supports the families and local communities around children at risk of losing parental care.
- Youth unemployment is a global issue that places young people without parental care at an even greater disadvantage. GoTeach activities support vulnerable young people in becoming self-reliant, and pave the way for a sustainable future.
- DHL Group is a long-term strategic partner of the SOS Children’s Villages YouthCan! initiative, contributing to the SDGs and driving the agenda to work in partnership to leave no one behind.
Teach for All GoTeach Messages (On how the organization works with DHL and the benefits the GoTeach program has brought to the table)
- Teach For All is a network of more than 60 partner organizations and a global organization developing collective leadership to ensure all children have the opportunity to fulfill their potential.
- In all corners of the world, the Teach For All network and DHL Group employees are working to improve employability for students of all ages through GoTeach. Together, DHL Group, Teach For All’s global organization, and network partners provide access to resources, experiences, tools, as well as capacity building and mentoring opportunities that enable students to succeed in a dynamic global economy.
